The East African School of Aviation (EASA) hosted a high-level stakeholder meeting bringing together representatives from 𝗖𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗣𝗢𝗟, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗞𝗖𝗔𝗔), and 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 (𝗞𝗤) to initiate the development of a specialized training programme on combating human trafficking in the aviation sector.
The meeting that was graced by the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗡𝘇𝘆𝗼𝗸𝗮 representing the Director, EASA focused on developing a standardized training curriculum to strengthen the capacity of aviation professionals to identify, prevent, and respond to human trafficking while supporting compliance with international aviation standards and national legislation.
Discussions covered curriculum development, stakeholder collaboration, regulatory requirements, training needs, and implementation timelines, with pilot activities expected to commence later this year.
Through this partnership, EASA reaffirms its commitment to delivering industry-responsive training programmes that enhance aviation security, safety, and operational excellence across Kenya and the region.
