The East African School of Aviation (EASA) continues to contribute to regional aviation capacity building through the sharing of specialized expertise in 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 (𝗦𝗔𝗥), with 𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗔 𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗡𝗴𝗶𝗴𝗶, participating in the delivery of a 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 in Ethiopia.
The training brings together aviation professionals drawn from a𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀, with the aim of strengthening their capacity to effectively plan, coordinate, and respond to aviation emergencies.
Anchored on the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 (𝗜𝗔𝗠𝗦𝗔𝗥) 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹, the programme focuses on enhancing the roles and responsibilities of SAR Mission Coordinators and their ability to lead coordinated and effective search and rescue operations.
Participants are undertaking practical exercises covering 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗔𝗥 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
