The Radar Mono Pulse / Mode-S Training course provides an in-depth understanding of advanced secondary surveillance radar (SSR) technology, including Mono-Pulse Radar principles and Mode-S operations. The course covers the theoretical and practical aspects of these radar systems, focusing on their role in modern air traffic surveillance and management.
Holders of either BSC in telecommunication or Diploma in telecommunication or equivalent.
Have successfully undergone ATSEP Phase 1- Qualification training and the corresponding OJT or equivalent
Be able to communicate in written and spoken English
ATSEP personnel (Engineers, Technologists, Technicians and Developmental Technicians)
Understand the fundamental principles of Monopulse Radar and its advantages over conventional tracking methods.
Explain the operation of Mode-S radar, including its data link capabilities and role in ATC.
Analyze the integration of Monopulse and Mode-S radar systems with ATC surveillance infrastructure.
Interpret Mode-S messages and understand their significance for aircraft identification and communication.
